Vilantae: Does it work? Here is what my experience has been
63
I recently purchased the Vilantae capsules to hopefully rid my face of the acne problems which I have had for now almost twenty years. I am hoping to detail my experience with this product over the next few months in hopes that it will give others a good over view of what they might expect from this product.
Let me first begin by telling you a little about myself. I am a male, age 35, average weight, tall, and in good health. I exercise regularly and eat a pretty healthy diet with the occasional splurge of fast food or soda. My acne is minor, one to two zits a month and they tend to be small or minor. I would say I get a major zit at least 6 to 10 times per year. They seem to come about when I exercise more or during hot weather. I also have some minor body acne on my back. I am at the point where I feel I should be old enough not to be dealing with this problem. I have been told about the drug Accutane which supposedly turns off the oil glands just like Vilantae does. To get Accutane you must get it from your doctor who must prescribe it to you. I have been told by some that is for major acne and not for most people. I have tried Retin A and most over the counter products without much luck since I was a teen.
First Week: The first few days I have experienced a little fatigue (tiredness), but that may or may not be due to the capsules. I seem to be less tired after six days. I will say it seems like a lot of capsules to be taking. I take five capsules four times a day for a total of 20 per day. There are a total of 400 capsules in the bottle which will last me 20 days. The directions say to do this for the next three months and then take less capsules over time. I am drinking a lot more water which will invariably help my skin as well. I have been washing face in the morning and night with Cetaphil Skin Cleanser. I use an exfoliating pad once in the morning with the Cetaphil Skin Cleanser and use Cetaphil Moisturing Cream once each morning for my entire face to help with any dryness in my T zone. I also wipe my face in the late afternoon or early evening with a Target brand of exfoliating cucumber towelette. They are the same as Ponds Exfoliating Clean Sweep wipes. I am still noticing a lot of oiliness along the top of my forehead. Hopefully next week I will see some results starting to take place.

This approach makes sense. The only thing I can add is to try to become more alkaline. Working out tends to build up lactic acid. Many bacteria seem to flourish in that acidic environment. I use a green drink in the morning and that has helped me alkalize. Good luck!
